Sex, Drugs, and Rock n’ Roll… Now Facebook?

Most of us realize that things have drastically changed since we have grown up. When we were growing up…

- If we were going to be late for our curfew, we probably needed a quarter and a pay phone to call our parents.
- The only way to send a message was through the post office and it required a stamp.
- And the biggest photo advancement was the polaroid camera.

Boy, have things changed since we grew up! Now, we’re smart enough to expect things to change over time. But we need to understand that things are moving and changing much rapidly than they did when we were young.  Text messaging, Facebook, Twitter, Flip Videos, Cell Pictures, and more have completely changed how we communicate with one another.

At first these communication tools seem rather innocent,
but we must raise the awareness of the potential harm that can be caused by these tools.

Turn these innocent tools upside down and you get:

Sexting
Cyberbullying
Date rape
Inappropriate videos and photos on youtube of your children
and more.

We are a huge supporter of technology, but as parents we must stay ahead of the curve so we can protect our children.

The only way to protect our children from these potential harmful situations is by:

Staying Informed
Having the conversation with our kids.

We see television commercial after television commercial reminding us to talk to our kids about the dangers of Drugs & Unprotected Sex can cause. However, we don’t see the same response for internet safety. We beg you not to miss the opportunity you have to protect your kids by talking openly and honestly about online privacy.

Before you can talk to your kids you must be informed. So, if you would like to learn more about keeping your Kids Safe on Facebook, learn more at www.140ology.com/protect.

If you care about your children, please raise the awareness and Share this by clicking the Facebook or Twitter Share button at the top of this screen.
